One of the aspects of the CSM RK activity is its direct involvement in the creation of new museums both in the republic and abroad. Over the past decades the Museum scientific concept of exposures construction of several museums including Presidential Cultural Centre in Astana, Museum of Political Repression, memorial museums of the Kazakh State Women’s University, School No.12, G. and A. Zhubanovs in Almaty, museums of Interior Ministry and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana, as well as participated in the creation of the Museum of Kurmangazy Sagyrbaev in Astrakhan region of the Russian Federationhas developedand implemented.
In 1999 in the new capital of Kazakhstan – Astana began construction of the largest cultural institution in the country, the Presidential Cultural Center, which includes a museum and a library. It should be noted that the scientific concept of the new Museum (150 pages), designed by Nursan Alimbay highly appreciated by the scientific community and has been implemented at the creation of a museum exhibition complexes of Presidential Cultural Center of Kazakhstan. In a short time, under the direction of Nursan Alimbay staffing of 350 people, collection of historical and ethnographic expeditions across the country and despite all the difficulties and hasty organization of Museumwork and the Presidential Cultural Center were organized.
In 2001 on the initiative of “Adilet” fund and with the support of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A.Nazarbayev in Almaty opens a branch of the CSM RK – Museum of Political Repression. The scientific concept of the museum was designed by Nursan Alimbay. Exposition of the museum dedicated to the tragic years of Stalinist repression and to people of the totalitarian system, in the historic building where in the 30th was the NKVD and then KGB of the Republic (Kabanbay Batyr and Nauryzbai Batyr Str. cross) were housed. The exhibition reflects the history of the fate of Kazakh intellectuals and public figures that have been almost run of total destruction. The construction and opening of the exhibition of the Museum of the Political Repression History marked a new stage in filling gaps of Kazakhstanihistory. Unfortunately, after the opening of the Museum of the Political Repression History which created by the efforts of the creative team of the CSM RK, for unknown reasons, has been eliminated, exhibits handed over to the Museum of the History of Almaty and the building has departed to Alliance Bank.
On April 29, 2006 the opening of a branch of the Central State Museum of the Republic Kazakhstan – the memorial museum-apartment of Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanovs – composer, People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR and the USSR. The creation of the new museum was fully implemented (renovated apartment, forming of the fund collection, concept development, specialized exhibit plan and building of exposure).
The important part of the scientific activity of the museum is the scientific and archaeological reconstruction. In recent years, the Museum undertaken projects on reconstruction of scientifically proved, archaeologically significant syncretic collective images of the ancient inhabitants of Kazakhstan. Reconstructions synthesize many years’ research and development in the field of archaeological reconstruction of the early Iron Age culture in Eurasia. Act as sufficiently representative and provide a source of information on various aspects of culture, traditions of mounted nomads – the major carriers of early nomadic civilization and by its conceptual framework, goals and objectives correspond to the museum purposes. Archaeological research projects on reconstruction of “Kangui woman 2nd century BC – 4thcentury AD”,”Arms and clothes of noble warrior – Xiongnu (Hun) 2nd century BC –1st century AD” (author A.N.Podushkin); new reconstruction of the “Golden Man» 4th – 3rd centuries BC (according to the new scientific interpretation of Alisher Akishev reconstructed by K. Altynbekov) were successfully implemented. Anthropological reconstruction of man and woman from the Altyn-Asarburial ground (author of reconstruction G.S.Balueva). Anthropological sculptural reconstruction of man from Tompak-Asar settlement (author of reconstruction E.Veselovskaya). “Suit of Woman of Bronze Age, Andronovo culture.17th-12th centuries BC”(reconstruction of A.Akishev). Materials handed over by Nursan Alimbay: anthropological sculptural reconstruction of man from Kos-Kuduk site of Neolithic period 5th millennium BC (author of reconstruction E.Veselovskaya, excavations of A.E.Astafyeva and Z.S.Samashev, Western Kazakhstan).
In 2014, on the instructions of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan CSM RK two projects with direct participation of the director of the museum Nursan Alimbay were developed:
– A project of historical and ethnographic complex “Қазақ ауылы” (Kazakh village) on the international exhibition “EXPO-2017” in Astana, as one of the organic (structural) components of this truly grand international event. Organization of historical and ethnographic complex “Қазақ ауылы” in accordance with the structural and functional components of traditional subsistence system of Kazakhs will allow effectively demonstrate the aestheticsand diverse subsistence functions of centuries-old cultural ethnic traditions of Kazakhs.
Such complex scientifically proved as close as possible to its historical and ethnographic (ontological) prototype will demonstrate to a range of visitors mobilizing spirit of tradition of descendants of centuries-old culture of nomads. The upcoming exhibition “Expo-2017” will certainly serve as another powerful factor of further increasing interest of foreign countries to our on historical standards very young state:
– Ethnography hallof the National Museum of Kazakhstan (the author’s project of Nursan Alimbay). Project plans to set the exposure connected with the Kazakh ethnography in one of the halls of the National Museum. Since the publication of exposure was limited by dimensions of the selected area, the exhibition space of the hall has been zoned in three interrelated and interdependent segments: a) on the left side of the main entrance diverse items of household economy and life of nomads are located; b) on the right – the traditional items of pastoral and farming activities of Kazakhs; c) the center – offers two options: complex “Kazakh traditional ceremonial dress” and complex “Bride send-off”. Implementation of the project by researchers of the CSM RK under the direct supervision of the authorhas been carried out. All work on the placement and installation of exhibition complexes, design development, scientific texts and labels of ethnographic hall of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the researchers and artists of the Central State Museum were carried out.
