December 11, 2024 at 15:00 in the State Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be held a cultural event “Independence-the motto of the country”, dedicated to the day of independence, and the opening of the exhibition “Tauelsizdik bastau – zheltoksan”.

On December 16, we celebrate one of the main public holidays of our country – Independence Day. This holiday forces us to return again and again to the origins of our statehood, the passed stages of formation and development of our state. The December 1986 events marked the beginning of the formation of an independent state in the history of Kazakhstan, a turning point in the people’s fate. The further back December 1986 goes, the more significant the events and consequences of those days become.

The purpose of the event: coverage of the December events, fostering a sense of patriotism, love and pride among the younger generation for their Homeland, respect for the victims of the December events.

Photo documentaries, exhibits and documents from the personal complexes of the participants of the December events, as well as books on this topic, will be provided to the visitors of the event. The clothes (jacket, shirt and tie) of the People’s Artist of the USSR A. Mambetov with traces of blood, indicating his participation in the December events, deserve special attention from visitors to the exhibition.

The cultural and educational event will be attended by cadets of the Almaty Republican School “Zhas Ulan” named after Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, the specialized lyceum “Arystan”, military personnel of the Regional Command “Ontustik” of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
